At SMART Animal Sanctuary and Rehoming Centre we aim to ensure all our animals are adopted to the most suitable home. We are pretty particular with our adoption policies and this ensures that our animals have the best chance for a happy life.
When you adopt, you’re not just giving a deserving animal a home. You’re also reducing the demand for puppy mills. pet shops and other industrial-scale breeding operations that put profit before animal welfare.
All our animals are vet checked, temperament tested, flea treated, wormed, vaccinated, micro chipped and de-sexed.
Every animal who comes into our care has needs. From vet bills to food bills and even toys and treats, it all costs money. We are a not for profit organisation, we need your help to help the animals.

We need people power to help to help the animals. Getting involved can be very rewarding and ensures the animals we rescue and care for get a great new start in life.
Our Story
SMART Animal Sanctuary & Rehoming Centre was established in 2003. We are a registered progressive incorporated not for profit animal welfare charity organisation that dedicates our time to helping animals find their ways into lifelong loving homes with an excellent quality of life of comfort, security and love.
We rescue many dogs and cats from death row in country pounds. We transfer them to our purpose-built facility near Batlow NSW before finding them forever homes.
When we have the room we may also take surrendered animals in need. We also take in farm animals and help them find homes.
